2-handed vs polearm
# Jan 18 2002 at 8:22 AM Rating: Default
I'm playing in the european Beta, going the path of the Armsman at lvl 23. Have maxed out 2-handed and slash, wearing a enchanted fine-alloy-waraxe (2-handed, slash). At this point, i can't understand all this take-polearm-or-1h/shield- or-be-a-looser talking. I'm able to take out some kinds of orange mobs alone (1vs1) without serious danger of dying for me, attacking nearly 1,5 - almost 2x faster then a polearmed armsman, depending on the weapon stats (was grouped with them often). The dealed damage per hit was in keltoi sometimes 10-15 pts lesser, but often the same as the damage dealed by a polearmed one @the same lvl, and he had the polearm which is dropped from the mobs there, not a buyed "normal" weapon like i have. I've never seen him drawing a mobs aggro from me, but the opposite. In RvR i can say i'm a nightmare for opponents which are yellow and orange to me, hitting hard without waiting eternitys for the next attack. Have tested this out on middies and hibbies often, never loosing a fight 1vs1 in this constellation(yellow, orange). My greatest victory was against 2 yellow middies (1 dualwielding troll and 1 1h/shield norseman, slashing both into parts. Finally: in addition the styles are looking damn good ! Hope this says enough about 2H armsmen. Send your comments !
