DISCLAIMER: Your Steps and Tasks may be different There may be a prerequisite to this quest, and that quest may have changed to melee only. Please note this is like all other quests and your tasks and steps MAY vary. Macalena points you to Cornelis the smith in Ft Veldon. Cornelis asks you to bring him 2 or 3 items easily obtainable in Muspelheim. He asks you to go to Muspelheim to kill a soot harvester and a fire flower. The first mob is at the entrance to Muspelheim, the second can be found if you go right and walk past the first pass. After you return to Cornelus he asks you to kill Olash. Olash can be found by hugging the north wall of Muspelheim, until you come to a very large lava pit. His loc is 6000,19300, and at the time all the regular mobs disappear and the undead spawn from 11pm to 6am, Olash appears, he is an Ashen Spirit. When you bring him the items he gives you an Unquenched Maul. When you kill Olash, the maul changes to the Ashen Maul. You do not have to use the unquenched maul to kill Olash. Simply having it in your pack is fine. Other mob and items are: be found at night only in the same area as the fire flowers and fire spouts) Runemasters cannot do this quest. Had a hard time finding them at first - couldn't believe nobody bothered to put in a loc so I'll do that instead.

I went to 6k, 18k Muspelheim zone. Olash (yellow to a level 24) spawned at 05:00 a.m., just after the plasmatasms despawned.
Level 24 was awarded 908,270 experience and the Ashen Maul.

Turn right as soon as you get inside the gate and follow the wall high as you can and sure enough you will see something that looks like a pass through, though it is still part of the "wall".
And he does not look like a flower at all, but like one of those ugly little trees near Gna Faste and other places.
Blue to my Skald at 27 as the Sulpheric Ghoul was.

I found the sulpheric ghoul right where someone loc'ed him... thank you very much.. BUT, I found nothing resembling a flower, fire or otherwise anywhere in area. The description says to go right past the first "pass" what ever that is.
If anyone finds a fire flower could they please post a loc? If I find one I will do the same.

OK... I said I would.. heh. Here it is. I found one at 10669, 53591. You do go right as soon as you enter and follow the top of the wall to avoid as much interference as possible so you don't lose your path. Anyway... you can walk through the herd of Angst or what ever the fire horses are called cause they are hostile which is same as neutral. You come to a "pass" I guess it is, tho it is still a wall, and there was a "fire flower". Ugly little walking tree actually, like the weeping willows around Gna Faste. Blue to my Skald at 27 as the Sulpheric Ghoul was.

Although Savage can use 2H hammer, they can't do the quest

I found olash at more like 12,19 could not see him form /loc 6/19

I saw Olash just after Plasmatasm spawn in the Lava pool, I think he spawn at the same time as them. I found him at loc 6000,19300.
He is an Ashen spirit spawn around 11.00PM-00.00.

After waiting at loc 6.4 18.8 i spied him across the lava lake(witch is swimable by the way).My loc was 8966,16518,4120. Also dont turn right at the gate! go left.

Posted: Mar 06 2002 at 5:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) First of all, Macalena is in Haggerfel in Mularn, which is nowhere near Gotar. Also, a 27 SM could not get this quest from either Macalena or Cornelis. I also couldn't get the Sulphine quest which may be a pre-requisite to this one.

I helped a friend do this wuest u can find him near lava pit after midnight game time he wanders in the lave and west side of wall where undead wlaks he always spawns there so wait ive seen him 2 times.

After LONG LONG search for him I"ve finally found the location of Sulphuric Goul Spawns.
K this is how you get there.
Just as you enter Musel take a right. You'll come to a small cul de sac with some skeletons and such in it (big mountain behind them).
Keep going south past this camp and over the mountain, you'll come to another small camp on the other side. THIS is where the sulphuric gouls spawn at night..
They arn't that uncommon here either.

This quest is given at level 24. What you have to bring the smith varies. I have seen 2 versions.

I believe he's speaking of the Sulphuric Ghoul. Sulphine is a crab for the Flameforged Sword quest, the Sulphuric Ghoul drops sulphuric acid needed to do some quest or another..can't remember what though. The ghoul can be found to the right of the entrance of Musp, take a right and go past the soot spiders, and you run into a field of fire flowers. The ghoul should spawn around there. Hope that helps.

No, Sulphine is a named sulphuric crab which is a completely separate quest. The quest for sulphine starts in Haggerfel by a NPC named Macalena i believe. Sulphine is at the East rim of a lava pit (night only spawn). From the entrance to Muspelheim go NW you should run into the big lave pit. This is also where Olash for the Fooolish Dancer quest spawns also. If isntead of Sulphine you were referring to a sulphuric ghoul instead os "sulphine goul" then you would find them at night time also but from the entrance you would just follow the mountainside to the right from the entrance you will pass a bridge and on the plateau there (where tree flowers and flame spirits are) you will find the sulphuric ghoul. This quest actually starts in Ft. Veldon, which is NW of Haggerfel is not far from Vendo Caverns. Cornelis is Ft. Veldon's norseman smith.
