ok at lv 7 im thinking of hunting in gotar and my first thoaght were carrion crawlers. can i take these at lv 7 and if i can and i hunt them will i get to lv 8 quickly?
i first started fighting here around level 6, as a spiritmaster. there are some carrion bugs near the water not far from the spind-- dungeon, excellent experience for 6-8. they are neutral cons, and pull single. from there i moved a bit closer to fort atla, and found some hobgoblin prowlers, neutral con. this soon changed after i killed about 20 of them. but they can also be pulled single, just watch your back for repops.
i got an interesting little magic bracer off one of the prowlers. a "Crusty Old Bracer", wrist slot, +3 to dex. wearable by all, or at least casters. the prowlers are good exp to 10, but be careful, they hit rather hard, and often double attack. they eat my pets unless i debuff then chain nuke them. blue and yellow to a lvl 9 spiritmaster.
Indeed a good spot to make first 6 levels, the skeletons will drop your first leather, and the huldu drops "carved wood" figures and an old carving tool that are worth 50cp each.
Sorry, but the name hobgoblin shagger is just too fun to not replying. It is not an insult, and im sorry if u took it that way. Honestly, are a little comment on mums and mobs really that atrocious?
Yes, the peninsula east of Ft Atla is great early hunting grounds because of the variability. Be careful hunting at night because there is a random spawn of a named skeleton. (You can't miss it, there are a bunch of consonants!) He pops up at the north end of the beach where the rest of the skeletons are and will aggro anyone. Just a little fyi.
The area immediately around Ft. Atla is great. Coming out of the gates if you go left there are plenty of Wildings, Snakes, Rattling Skeletons and hobgoblins. The skeletons drop good starting armor and you can have a full set by the time you reach lvl 3. If you run straight out the gates toward a building on the right there is a good hunting spot for level 4 and 5. Lots of Pine Sprouts, Pine Sprigs, Hobgoblin Shaggers, Shadowed Hounds (I think thats the name) for good exp and loot. The Pine sprigs and sprouts drop a pine medallion that sells to the vendors for 25 cp. Thats a good bit for a noobie. After leveling to 4 I had plenty of cash to buy a bronze hammer for my Seer and still have about 30 silver left over. Time to rent a horse and head to Jordheim!!
Yeah them Wee Wolfie's will wee on your cheerios if you aren't careful!!
Good spot to hunt as you go up the peninsula larger groups are required, there is a place where Wood Imps and another type of Imp enjoy making your day a little less fun as well.
A good place to get through the newbie levels in Gotar is on the peninsula just out from Ft. Alta.
There are the hulls of a few old shipwrecks there at the tip of the peninsula. At night, a bunch of skeletal oarsmen spawn there. They are easy exp up to about lvl 7 or so. They do not aggro, so you can fight them one at a time. And they drop a decent amount of loot.
During the day in this same area, there is an assortment of wee wolves and huldu stalkers and other mobs to kill. All in all, a nice newbie zone not too far from a bind spot.
